Vinyasa Yoga for Strength

Every Monday Morning with Patricia Truitt

This energetic class includes pranayama, Sun Salutations, floor core work, and balance challenges to create strength, heat and endurance. Flowing Sun Salutations, lunges and planks are held for several seconds while student are invited to focus on alignment and option to engage Ujjaii breath. Class has variations in postures, occasional arm balance/inversions, and stretching in pigeon, leg stretches or back stretches before final relaxation or Savasana.
*Good for most levels, but should have some prior basic yoga experience."

 

 

 

Restorative Aerial Yoga

Every Monday Morning with Patricia Truitt

10:15 AM – 11:15 AM

Leave your stress at the door; these soothing aerial moves will help restore your energy while slow stretches in the hammock and on the mat open the muscles. Class includes pranayama, longer held poses, some floor poses, twists and very gentle inversions at your own level of comfort. No previous experience needed, all levels.

For All Aerial Classes: Aerial yoga is good for people who do well with a gentle swinging movement in the silks, and who do not experience motion sickness; contraindicated for those with high blood pressure, vertigo, recent illness, weakness, glaucoma, recent surgery/injury. If in doubt, ask your doctor. Avoid eating or drinking 90 mins prior to class; please remove all jewelry, watches, belt buckles or items that will damage silks. Please NO suntan lotion, oils or cream on skin; observe good hygiene, wear proper yoga attire and no perfumes-they can stick to the silks

Intro to Aerial Yoga with Lori Roe

Have you been wanting to give aerial a try and not sure whether it's for you? This is where all aerial students learn the ABC's of silks and asana combined to give first-timers peace of mind. Learn how to sit with comfort, balanced in the fabric, cocoon (everyone's favorite!), and maneuver through basic moves, while you discover find the proper transitions, hand holds and leg positions. Once you've obtained basic skills in at least one the intro to aerial classes, you can move on Aerial One.

Learn the art of bellydance with Katerina. Katerina has a background in many disciplines of dance. The class is filled with laughter, sisterhood, and honoring the sacred feminine in you! Please wear tight fitting clothes so that you can see your movements. If you have a hip scarf, bring it. The last class of the session we will dance in full costume!

Deepen your practice of aerial basics with gentle flying moves in postures like locust, cannonball or swing; test your floor to hammock strength, work on inversion in Down Dog and/or hip wraps for a mix of strength, length and aerial technique. Includes balances or moves such as one legged Warrior/Tree or try a pull-up/jump through, or 2-3 min long inverted postures. *Must have previously taken "Introduction to Aerial" for mastery of wraps and safety procedures prior to taking Aerial One unless you have permission from teacher.

Chill out in the aerial silks, slow down the busy mind while taking time to slowly warm-up and lengthen the muscles. Savor various expansive side-stretches, forward folds, knees to chest, locust, puppy, hamstring stretch, fish poses or similar joint mobilization while practicing breath-work or pranayama to integrate body, mind and spirit and delightful long cocoon for the final relaxation/Savasana and brief meditation. All levels
